I'm memory blur.
Non-fungible tokens or NFTs are a way to assign value and ownership even to intangible assets.
Now NFTs can digitally establish ownership of nearly anything using smart contracts on a blockchain to power a range of transactions from art to real estate to digital collectibles.
So what does the NFTU landscape actually look like in 2025? here at the New York Stock Exchange to weigh in is Danny Yang, CEO of On Chain Monkey created by MetaGoods.
So Danny, thank you so much for joining me.
Thank you for having us.
Well, when we take a step back and look at the evolution of NFTs, we've come a long way from the initial mania back in 2021.
So walk us through where NFTs are in 2025.
Yeah, great question.
So NFTs.
I think are kind of an extension of this new concept of digital ownership which hasn't really started until basically blockchains came around Bitcoin, you know, basically 1516 years ago.
And the idea that you can own something digitally is still quite new, so NFT is the last cycle or about being able to tokenize some asset.
So the token represents that you own something, but the asset itself is still some other thing, right?
Like you mentioned real estate, right?
That's like a real RWAs, real world assets are actually also a bigger.
Now and something I've worked on in the past, but with NFT is like the thing that is kind of new and exciting today in 2025 is actually the purely digital NFT where it's not just a token, but the NFT is actually the asset itself and that's what I call on chain NFTs.
So it's it's actually It's a kind of a new concept too that you can own this digital thing and digital thing is the thing that you own versus a token that represents that you own something else, right?
So and Danny, I understand that you first launched on Ethereum back in 2021.
So tell us about art on Bitcoin.
How does this work and why Bitcoin?
Yeah, so the interesting thing about art on Bitcoin is that really the new thing that started was Ordnos in 2023, and that was on chain.
NFTs on Bitcoin or actually maybe just on chain assets on Bitcoin.
What I mentioned earlier about when you tokenize something versus when you actually make the thing completely kind of on chain.
So the token in the past when we're talking about NFTs, the NFT is a token of something that can be anywhere and now we're talking about on chain NFTs where the NFT, the token.
Is it that that is the thing.
And so the cool thing about art on Bitcoin or Bitcoin or those which one use case is art on Bitcoin, so you're actually creating art that's actually on Bitcoin.
It's not just a token of the art, the token is the art and it's all on Bitcoin, which is kind of a crazy concept.
And here we are after the end of a Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas.
So give us your take on what was different this year.
Yeah, well this year, one, it's the largest ever for a Bitcoin conference, and you know Vegas is actually a great place for a large conference.
Everyone is Kind of at the venue, the hotel, and the convention center all together and just you know a lot of, a lot of energy, the vibes are high, you know, all these Bitcoiners and because it's the largest, obviously there are many new people attending a conference that came to basically hang out and hear what's going on in Bitcoin.
And one of the big topics this year was the corporate Bitcoin treasury.
So that was definitely Michael Saor was there, Microsi, Simon Gervi of Metalant.
And then a new one that is launching Nakamoto, so they're all quite present.
And you know the communities were there supporting them.
And Danny, finally before I let you go, so you're coming off of this Bitcoin conference, the largest gathering to date, and here we are with a lot of expectations when it comes to the regulatory environment here in the US.
So what are you focusing on over at your organization?
Yeah, so at Ore Monkey, we're actually growing this new art on Bitcoin market.
It's actually quite new.
The idea that you can actually use Bitcoin as a canvas or a medium for the art and also at the conference they had an art like the Bitcoin conference always has an art section that shows our art and so art on Bitcoin also was present there.
So you know Onchain Monkey is also helping grow both the artist community and also the collect community to kind of appreciate art that's actually on B and OCM Onchain Monkey is also that first 10K gender art collection created on Bitcoin.
And you know we've been kind of helping shape this art on Bitcoin movement.
And finally, before I let you go, since I have you here and we're talking about Bitcoin, do you personally have any price target?
Oh right, so I think that every halving cycle, the Bitcoin price always shoots up before you know some correction.
I think this time I think we still have a ways to go before you know we see the top, so I'm quite bullish bitcoins.
Well, we continue to hit new records in 2025, so we'll keep an eye on that price, and Danny, thank you so much for joining me today.
Thank you.
Thank you.
