Good morning, Polly, and thank you so much for joining us.
Well, according to a new report from global digital payments platform Checkout.com, merchants and financial institutions that do not offer ID verification and biometric payment authorization risk losing customer trust.
So what did the report actually reveal about digital payments?
Good morning, Rey.
Happy Friday.
Always great to be here as usual.
So in this new 2025 report, Trust in the Digital Economy, Checkout.com has revealed that 49% of the UK population believe that the future of secure payments online will use digital ID ass verification.
But despite this demand, only 21% of UK consumers are currently using a payment method with biometric gratification for added security, and Checkout.com says that this highlights a significant untapped opportunity for merchants to increase trust in the digital economy by integrating payment flows that offer biometric authentication.
And this comes as the UK government is currently exploring plans to develop a digital Britcard ID card.
So interestingly though, attitudes towards this type of businesses trusted to store biometric.
Data for payments and ID verification do vary by gender.
So 8% more men are comfortable with Fintech storing the data than women, or 8% more women are comfortable with food delivery services storing the biometric data than men.
So there is a little bit of gender disparity in terms of the trust in businesses to protect their data.
However, Checkout.com's new report also reveals that men are twice as comfortable as women with online gaming and digital content providers storing their biometric data as well.
I think there's obviously a lot in here when it comes to digital ID.
I think it's Something that has been sort of on the brink of happening for a really long time and having that widespread implication and implementation, sorry.
And so I think it's really interesting to see that Checkout.com are running this kind of research, especially when we think about, you know, payment fraud and other like really hot topics at the moment when it comes to digital payments.
I think it's really interesting that consumers are more open to having their ID verification done digitally through biometric authentication.
So a really interesting one to keep an eye out and definitely one I'll be watching.
In the next sort of coming year or so.
OK, Pauly, and very quickly here I understand Open banking fintechODA is launching its new Notari platform.
So tell us a little bit about the benefits here.
Yeah, absolutely.

And they're ensuring connectivity remains a top priority for streamers.
Their platform can be used by both new and.
The streamers and benefits from an easy way to monetize their content with no delays, no extra apps, and no complicated setup.
So I thought this is a really interesting piece today, you know, streamers, streamers today really need those tools that are fast, flexible, and truly creative friendly, and Noda Prime is really hoping to put streamers in control of their finances, helping them to get paid instantly, instantly, and building deeper engagement through fun interactive donation experiences.
It's just a really nice story today and something and always interesting to see the payment industry getting into something a bit more niche like streaming.
