Money 2020 is the premier global fintech event designed to explore the future of finance and connect tomorrow's leaders with innovation.
The Money Awards launched by Money 2020 recognize transformative innovation in the fintech ecosystem, honoring companies and leaders who are shaping the future of money by advancing tech and setting new.
Standards of excellence.
The deadline for entry for the awards is tomorrow, July 29th.
Well, joining me this morning as we kick off a new week is Grainja Chesterton, VP of Awards for Money 2020.
Granja, thank you so much for joining us.
So first and foremost, what are the money awards and why did Money 2020 decide to launch them now?
Thanks, Rey.
Thanks for having me here today and lovely to see you.
Yeah, so, um, Money 2020 has launched the Global, um, Money Awards this year, so we're going to be doing it for the first time in Las Vegas in October.
And these awards are designed to celebrate, you know, the best and most transformative work in the industry, um, within the FinTech ecosystem.
So really work that's moving the dial forwards and, um, taking innovation forwards.
And Grania, tell us what sets the money awards apart from other awards that are out there.
Yeah, so when we were researching during the awards, one of the things that we realized was whilst there are some really excellent awards that already exist, they predominantly focus on one FinTech vertical or they're specific for one region.
So what we wanted to do was launch something that was truly global and industry-wide.
The second thing that I think really sets us apart is the third party validation.
So we have a global jury with over 41 jurors from around the world, and these are expert leaders that are going to be the people reviewing the work.
So Money 2020 is purely the platform that brings together all of the entrants, and then the jury are the experts that will be providing that neutral and third party validation, which is really, really important to set these awards apart.
And Grania, I personally attended a Money 2020 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But for viewers out there who may not be familiar, what kinds of companies or innovations are you actually looking to recognize?
Yes, so Money 2020 really brings the whole ecosystem together.
So we've got 5 main awards.
These are going to be for banking, payments, partnerships, strategic and strategic alliances, startups, and diamonds.
So diamond is kind of any game changing innovation.
So we have those 5 main awards and then within each one of those awards we actually have up to around 100.
In two subcategories and these subcategories have been co-created with the industry, so we want to make sure that we can recognize all types of work within each different vertical, so it could be anything from partnerships, um, payment companies, fraud, identity.
I mean the list goes on.
So we have a whole team that can help you identify the right category and what's the best fit for you.
And when it comes to winning a money award, it brings a year of recognition and can also boost a company's reputation and also open door to new partnerships as well as highlight leadership in the fintech industry.
So tell me about the impact of winning.
Yeah, the best way I think about it is if winning an Oscar essentially helps the movie's box office, winning, winning a money award is really going to help your business drive innovation, seek investment.
So whilst you will be celebrated in Vegas and you will be collecting your beautiful trophy in Las Vegas, this is a global award recognizing work from all over the world.
So what we will do is money 2.
20 years we'll be putting the spotlight on those winners and we'll be celebrating them not just in Las Vegas but also throughout the year at all of our different Money 2020 events.
So that's in Europe, that's in Asia, that's in the Middle East, and we'll be doing all sorts of things from speaking opportunities, podcasts, media engagements.
So really want to ensure that we're spotlighting these winners and talking about the work that is driving this innovation.
Yeah, I'm finally, I understand that the deadline is tomorrow, July 29th, so how can companies get involved here?
Yes, exactly, thanks for bringing that up actually, Remy.
So at the moment, uh, we're open for entries.
Entries will close tomorrow evening or tomorrow night wherever you're based.
Um, so what we want to make sure is that if you're thinking about entering, do reach out to our team that's, um, fully here to support you.
It's, uh, awards at Money2020.com.
They'll be able to help you, um, with choosing the right category, just getting your entry in and ensuring that you get everything over to us in time.
Uh, if you're already started your entry and you want to speak to us because you've hit any roadblocks or you've got questions, really do reach out to the team because we'll make sure that we are here to get everything over smoothly, um, ahead of the jury getting everything and reviewing it.
Um, so yes, that's where we're at.
OK, Gray, well thank you so much for joining us this morning and telling us more about the awards.
I look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas.
You torey, thank you very much.
