Welcome to FinTech TV.
I'm Remy Blair.
We're here on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and it is Veterans Day.
So joining me on the trading floor today is Shane Manny, who's the executive director and founder of Five Stones Fight Club.
Shane, great to have you here and thank you so much for your service.
Great, thank you so much for having us.
A pleasure to be here.
It's the first time I've ever been here.
It's a pretty amazing place.
Yeah, and you're here on Veterans Day, so I do want Hear about the story of Five Stone's Fight Club.
How did it get started?
Yeah, so Five Stones Fight Club, we're a mixed martial arts sports ministry, and so we use boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu was our way to build relationships and then share the gospel.
And so what we found is our main influx of people have been a lot of veterans because I mean they've been, you know, doing that for for years.
So 18 and 35 year old male, military age male, so it's an easy transition when.
They leave the service, it kind of gives them a new mission and a new place to plug in to serve.
So the gym actually itself then also funds Five Stones International, which, uh, international, we do, uh, solar panel installs in third world countries.
Um, we do some counter trafficking work through education awareness and prevention, and then we also do disaster relief stateside as well, so it's just an easy way to kind of plug veterans in.
Yeah, so you're not just focused on the US but also what's happening overseas.
So for viewers out there who want to know how they can help, what would you say to them?
Yeah, the best way to learn about our organization is to go to Fivesonesfightclub.org or Fivesones International.com.
That's the best way.
Websites right there.
It's pretty easy to navigate.
So, um, yeah, everything, all descriptions are right there.
Just drop down tabs pretty simple.
Yeah, and shame based on what you're telling me about the mission of Five Stones, it's not just the physical, but it's also the mental psychological as well.
Tell us why this is so important.
Yes, so when, when veterans leave their service, right, um, they automatically experience loss, loss of identity, loss of purpose and loss of a community.
And so it just gives a place to plug in and really, I mean, especially if they're they're dealing with PTSD or or just that.
Separation, um, it kind of gives a way to integrate back into society in a place that feels safe and familiar um so again it just kind of gives them that reassurance that there's people here and that that we want to be part of their lives.
Yeah, and I do want to hear about the future, your vision for Five Stones International.
What's on the horizon?
Yeah, so, um, we've done so far we've done 5 schools, um, with solar panel installs where they had no.
Electricity, um, we're in Kurdistan, Iraq, so it's kind of an interesting place where some of us have fought, um, to go back and actually then rebuild in some places, um, but so we've done 5 already.
We have 5 more scheduled for actually, um, next month, and then our goal is to do 25 in total.
So, um, so that just gives people a way to kind of plug in and help.
We also do medical training um for missionaries um that are are stationed there.
And other nonprofits that are doing work in the in the area just because of, I mean Iraq is can be a volatile place from time to time and so it just gives a way to give back to the community.
And finally, FinTech TV would like to make a donation to Five Stone.
So here we have Jeremy Casten from our team with a donation of $4000.
So thank you for all of your hard work.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
Well Shane, thank you so much for joining me here on this Veterans Day and thank you so much for all that you do.
Thanks for having us.
My pleasure.
