Robin Hood Ventures fund one to trade under Tickery RBI at the New York Stock Exchange.
It is a $1 billion closed and fund offered through an IPO right here on the New York Stock Exchange.
Now it provides retail investors exposure to high profile late stage pre-IPO names like ramp, Stripe, and data bricks, and these are assets. reserved for institutional and large accredited investors while joining me here fresh off ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange is Sarah Pinto, President of Robinhood Ventures great to have you here.
Thank you so much for joining me.
Thank you so much.
So great to be here.
Well 2026 has seen a lot of volatility across the markets.
All know heading into the new year we're eyeing IPOs.
So tell us about this fund, of course.
So we're incredibly excited about the two sides of this fund.
Firstly, this is giving retail investors access to an asset class they really had never had access to before.
Private companies where so much of the innovation and the value creation happens today.
And then on the other side of it is giving some of the best companies of today access to a completely new pool of capital which is the American retail investor, and we're incredibly excited about that.
They get to share in their success with a broader number of stakeholders, which is really exciting.
And Sarah, you just rang the opening bell here at the New York Stock Exchange and on the panels behind us here at the trading booth, we are looking at RBI Fund one under ticker symbol RBI.
So we are waiting to start trading and open here but for viewers out there who want to know the details of this closed and fund, tell us more about it.
Of course, so it's solving the four big issues for access to private markets today.
One is there's no accreditation requirement, which wasn't the case before.
Two, there's no investment minimum.
You can buy fractional shares.
You can buy any amount you want.
3, it's daily traded, and so you can buy, you can sell every single day.
You're not locked into anything.
And for it has very competitive fees.
There is no performance fee, no carry, and so that those things are all completely new for investors to get access to the best in class frontier tech companies in the private markets and there are some key names that we're watching this year as 2026 continues despite all this market volatility but for views out there who are wondering how you be handling the actual mark to market valuations of some of these.
Late stage private companies, of course we have an incredibly disciplined process.
We have an independent board.
We have a third party evaluator, and then we have an independent evaluation committee.
And so every quarter we will value these companies and it will be mostly based on external marks, new raises, for example, for these companies. and Sarah, when most people think about Robinhood, they might think about the trading app itself.
So why a closed and fund.
It's really the very logical next step in our mission to democratize access to financial markets.
I mean you see it here.
This is a very old building, and yet the financial markets are so dynamic and they're changing every single day.
We think that innovation needs to come to private markets as well, and so that is very much our mission here is to continue to bring this innovation and this democratization to the new asset class.
Yes, and Sarah, I'm sure you've Spent a lot of time speaking with stakeholders as we get ready to kick off RBI here at the New York Stock Exchange.
So what has been some of the feedback?
Absolutely.
So this IPO was very unique in that it was majority for retail, which is not the case for most IPOs, and our retail investors are very excited to be able to own some of the companies that they admire and that they know.
And so we had very strong.
Reception from retail investors and then what I find very exciting is we're getting some institutional investors interested as well because I think our product is unique and it's quite competitive and speaking of product at Robinhood, you have had a lot of announcements recently, so finally, before I let you go, how does the Robinhood ventures fund one actually fit into your product lineup.
It's just another product.
That we offer our customers and really what I've only been at Robinhood for 2 months, so I can't take credit for all the other amazing products that we have, but certainly it's an incredibly innovative company and I'm just really impressed that the number of things that we are able to announce and to create every quarter for our customers and Robin Hood Ventures is a really good example of that.
And what are some names that we can expect to see in the portfolio?
So I cannot.
Name specific names, but you can assume that all of the most highly valued, most exciting, most innovative companies that power AI, space exploration, defense, fintech, consumer tech, we're talking to all of them and hoping to add them to the portfolio.
Well, I think we are counting down to the opening of RBI.
So thank you so much for joining me and thank you so much for sharing all of your insights today.
Thanks for having me.
